Revision History:
1.01: 12/19/91
A problem with certain machine BIOS chips was causing keyboard
time-outs and carrier-loss checks to be rendered ineffective.
Version 1.01 "corrects" for this situation, if it exists on your
PC, and now properly handles time-out and carrier-losses.
1.1: 02/27/92
This release was mainly to accompany the additional support for
PCBoard, RemoteAccess, and Wildcat! BBSes. However, due to
popular request, an additional feature was added to the DataMail
door - the ability to display an advertisement when the door
is first started. This was requested in order to promote "Door
Sponsorship" by a Sysop's Callers - the Sysop can use the new
advertisement feature to give praise and glory to the caller(s)
who paid for the use of DataMail. Please see the Sysop's Manual
for exact details.
Upgrading to 1.1:
If you do not already have DataMail installed, follow the normal
installation directions. If you *do* have DataMail versions 1.00
or 1.01 already installed, ONLY extract the contents of DMEXES.EXE
and your appropriate BBS-specific file for DMUSRBLD (DMSF31.EXE,
DMWC30.EXE, DMP145.EXE, or DMRA11.EXE). Do *not* extract
DMXFER.EXE or DMDATA.EXE, as doing so will overlay your existing
data files and destroy your configuration, as well as erase any
changes you have made to your file-transfer batch files. There
are no other aspects to upgrading to version 1.1; simply unpack
the proper .EXE files (replacing the old ones already in use) and
you are ready to go...
